WCC All-Conference Team: Bryant is POY
SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- Santa Clara senior center John Bryant turned in one of the most dominating seasons in the last 30 years in WCC history and was rewarded on Monday by being named the Conference Player of the Year in a vote by the league's head coaches. Saint Mary's senior forward Diamon Simpson joined Bryant among the yearly conference award recipients, taking home his second consecutive Defensive Player of the Year honor.

Gonzaga University edged Saint Mary's College and the University of San Diego in the 2008-09 WCC men's basketball pre-season poll as selected by the league coaches. The announcement was made at the 2008 WCC Basketball Media Day at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, site of the 2009 WCC Basketball Tournament.

San Francisco Adds Manhattan Transfer Rashad Green

(San Francisco) - Rashad Green, a 6-4, 195 pound wing from Babylon, New York has signed a scholarship agreement to play basketball at the University of San Francisco, as announced today by head coach Rex Walters. Under NCAA transfer rules, Green will sit out the entire 2008-09 season after completing a successful freshman season at Manhattan in 2007-08.
