Daily Bracketology Friday: Bubble Disaster

Another day, another daily Field of 65. This is a field based on how the tourney looks "as of this moment." Arrows indicate a team that moved up or down based on last night's performance. (Just because a team won or lost doesn't necessarily mean they'll move substantially.)

 

Note on Friday's Movement: Embarrassing. That's the only word that properly describes the performance of yesterday's bubble teams. Some of the losses (Oregon to WSU, ASU to USC, Dayton to Xavier) are excusable.. while others were downright pathetic. UMASS blowing a 17 point half-time lead to Charlotte being perhaps the worst, considering how close they came to earning a bid. Ole Miss losing to lowly Georgia and Baylor losing to Colorado (both teams ranked below 125th) are equally pathetic. The list could go on but you've probably seen all the results by now.

 

St. Joseph's moves into the field for now.. replacing UMASS. This has less to do with SJU's win over Richmond, but my conviction that two A10 teams will end up in the field. Illinois State and Ohio State are the big winners of the day, moving up slightly despite being idle. The Buckeyes must win today or Oregon will probably move back in instead.

 

Up in the higher seeds, a win over Arizona and losses by UCONN & Louisville allows Stanford to move back into a 3 seed.  Baylor drops to a 10 seed after the Colorado debacle, but should still be fairly safe.  Finally, sign up for our free Bracket Contest and see if you can beat me in the final standings!
