Daily Bracketology Tuesday: Shrinking Bubble

Another day, another daily Field of 65. This is a field based on how the tourney looks "as of this moment." For one-bid leagues, I simply include the conference leader at the time of publishing. In case of ties, I use my projected winner.

 

Arrows indicate a team that moved up or down based on last night's performance. (Just because a team won or lost doesn't necessarily mean they'll move substantially.)

 

Note on Tuesday's Movement: Now things are finally getting interesting.. Upsets by San Diego (over Gonzaga) and MTSU (over South Alabama) shake up the puzzle as two bubble spots are burst. Say goodbye to Dayton and UAB.. who fall out of the Tournament despite being off (rough day). Assuming there will be another stolen spot somewhere along the way, then one in the 10-12 seed range is safe (maybe Cleveland St knocks off Butler tonight?)

 

Other changes to note: USC moves up to an 8, knocking down Pittsburgh. This was due to RPI updates.. and no relation to results last night (similarly, Kentucky moved up slightly). The loss by South Alabama (and San Diego's win, which probably hurt Saint Mary's seeding), allowed West Virginia and Kansas State to secure 8 seeds. San Diego enters the field as a 13 seed, while WKU is a 12. Lastly, I moved Austin Peay up to a 15 (where they probably should have been for some time) as their RPI has improved to 83rd.

 

Also, you might notice that ASU was the last team in yesterday, but survived unlike Dayton or UAB. This is because I'm certain the committee will do whatever it can to take at least 6 Pac-10 teams, at least based on how things currently stand.
