Who Will be the America East champs?

It hurts me to vote that way, but anyone who doesnt pick UNC is just being silly.

I hate to break the news to yall die hard Carolina fans and Tar Heel believers. But Carolina is going to take an L at Joel Coliseum this year and may not even win their own conferece, though i know thats a stretch. Wake will come in no worse than second in the ACC and if Carolina slips up and loses two games or more then they may just surrender the crown. The most talanted squad in the ACC this year, if not the country, OHTER than Carolina is Wake. If Gaudio has them boys ready to play then we may be talking Wake 1st final four season since 1962. Watch what i tell ya, and remember where you heard it first.

I do believe that wake has deepest frontcourt in the nation. There backcourt can run with anyone. I do believe Wake Forest can break out this year and be a force, not only in the acc but also the field of 65. If everyone plays up to there potential there is no team out there that can match them physically and talent wise. There will always be a mismatch.

Did I miss something here? Wake signs 3 Freshman players and suddenly they go from 7-9 in the conference to contending for the ACC title? I don't think so. Yes, they will be improved and they should make the field of 65 but UNC,Miami,Duke and Clemson will finish ahead of them in conference and probably in that order. I'm not saying UNC is unbeatable. But considering they return 8 of their top 10 players from a 14-2 ACC finish last year, and signed on 4 quality recruits this season,it's sort of ridiculous to think that's going to change outside of a major injury to a couple of starters. Case in point: They played 6 conference games without Ty Lawson last season and still won the ACC out right.

I AM A TARHEEL FAN AND MORE SO A COLLEGE BASKETBALL FAN. I KNOW SPECIAL WHEN I SEE IT AND THIS UNC TEAM HAS EVERYTHING IT TAKES TO BE JUST THAT. THOSE KIDS WILL DECIDE THAT ON THE COURT. PERSONALLY, I THINK THE KANSAS LOSS ALONG WITH AN ENDLESS DESIRER TO WIN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP WILL FUEL THIS TEAM AND THE SEASON WILL BE LABELED AS A "MAGICAL YEAR" FOR THE TARHEELS.

Wake will win the acc and beat carolina at home by 15 just like theu did when Chris Paul was thier in 2005.

All of yall carolina fans are so proud of your OVERATED tarhills that u cant see the real danger this year. Duke is truly talented this year and they could tear unc apart about as bad as Kansas did. And one more thing, as far as im concerned, Duke and carolina are the only teams worth talking about in the ACC. The rest are just fish in a barrel for duke and unc.

Yes, once again its me, the one who wrote the 1st Wake article that started all this commotion. to the 1 who wrote this rdiculous article above, i could insult your shameful ignorance all day but imma try to keep it short and simple. Now, if im not mistaken, wasnt Wake the team that dominated Duke so handily last year that it made us look like national title contenders. And Duke was overratedly ranked # 2 that game if im not mistaken. (I remember, cause i won alot of money on that game by the way). And it turned out to be a whole lot easier than i expected. Now, we are bringing back the same team that dominated Duke last year, plus a year older, plus some fab freshman to top all off. Now throw in the fact that that Kyle Singalar is suppose to be yalls best player, (who is highly overrated by the way) HA HA, and that lack of a real inside presence that yall have, and i would be suprised if Wake didnt humiliate Duke this yr in Durham even worse than they did last yr at Wake. Yall are a joke and probably will bow out once again in the 2nd round. If is wasnt for coach K, Id pick yall to finish maybe 5th in the ACC but thanks to him ill give yall 4th or tied for 3rd. Carolina is definetly the favorite in the ACC. Theyre tough, expierenced, and athletic. the only team that has a chance other than them in Duke. Duke has tremendous talent all around. They have every player back except DeMarcus Nelson and they've brought in freshman Elliot Williams to replace him and Olek Czyz and Miles Plumlee to add some size. We all know they can shoot the 3s and when have you ever seen a Duke team that cant play D ? Carolina is the favorite, Duke is a close 2nd, and everyone else is fighting for 3rd...just like every other year

Duke and UNC are the only possible champions. Not Wake not Miami not Clemson. Just Duke and UNC. The names on the back of their jerseys have changed but not the ones on the front. Thats why they have, do, and always will dominate the ACC as well as the rest of the country - Duke and UNC

Well im from North Carolina, born, raised, and reside. And I agree with the article that I read in the paper the other day that stated that Duke was a pretender, mainly because they lack a true inside go to guy other than Kyle Singler, and he isnt as good to me as people make it seem. It also stated that the only REAL contenders to knock off Carolina would be either UCLA, PITT, NOTRE DAME, TEXAS, UCONN, OR WAKE FOREST. Take it how you want it. With that said, I say the ACC goes in this order: UNC, WF, DUKE, CLEMSON, MIAMI, VT, MARYLAND, FSU, GT, BC, NC STATE, AND VIRGINIA. Just my opinion.

Duke has added Olek Czyz and Miles Plumlee to their roster for size. 7ft Brian Zoubek has also had another year to get better and get some rebounds when we need him too. Wake Forest has nothing for Duke and Carolina and neither does anyone else in the ACC. They've been the best teams in the conference for the last 10 years and this one will be no different. Duke has to much talent not to at least finish 2nd. I mean yeah they dont have "big man" but they didnt have one last year either and they went 13-3. They might not be able to go deep in the NCAA tourney without a lot of size, but they'll still be able to dominate the ACC cause theres no competition besides Carolina

to the one who thinks that I am "ignorant", How many national championships has wake won? May I remind you that Duke has 3, along with 16 ACC champpionships. Look what people wrote after you. Nothing good about wake. All about Duke and unc. Wake may have beat Duke once, but they couldn't do it twice could they? That game was just luck and nothing more. Every team has a bad night. FYI Duke has 3 national championships against wakes none. Duke does have 16 ACC championships while wake has only 4 and Duke also has 14 final fours and Wake only 1.To be so "ignorant" i know so much dont i? You must not be a big college basketball fan because a team (Wake) with any less of a record probably would not be able to be considerd a division 1 basketball team!!! And i'm not a dawg either!!!

I dont think yall understand. Yeah yeah yeah, we all know that Duke has one of the most storied programs in college. But who cares about their history except for Duke. The point is: Wake Forest has a much more talented squad this yr than Duke and its not even debatable. The only reason Duke is ranked as highly as they are IS because of their history. Like the other guy said, they are pretenders. Wake on the other hand is highly regaurded but probably arent as highly regaurded as they should be because they are young and presumably based off of potential. Like Shawn said though, they were pretty good last yr with fresh and sophs and let me add that they blew alot big leads at the end (Clemson, Gt, Etc),which probably just exposed there youth (there top 2 scores were freshman), yet they still somehow managed to go 7-9 in the conference. So they would still be pretty good this yr you would think even without their all star recruits.

And to the blue devil fan above, the good thing about college basktball is that, unlike college football, your fate is ultimately decided on the court. The great thing about college basketball is that we (wake) will get to see yall (Duke) twice this yr, unlike last yr when we SMASHED yall but there was never a rematch. Expect Wake to take both.

The statement that wake has a more talented squad than Duke is not only debatable, but it's not true, at least not this year. I will admit that wake will have a good squad this year, but there still too young to beat Duke in both games. They might split with Duke again, but as far as beating them in two games? Not this year, but next year could be the year that wake not only beats Duke, but every team in the ACC and even make the NCAA tournament.

To the silly wake fan, which is better, to be knocked out of the second round of the NCAA tournament or not even make the tournament at all? Think about that the next time u mention wake being better than Duke, or about Duke being a joke.

Oh dont apologize because I bet unc will split with Duke AGAIN or maybe worse so u cant really say that unc will crush Duke, but unc will spank Wake like a red headed step child and thats not even debatable.

what part of WAKE IS STILL TO YOUNG RIGHT NOW dont u understand? Sure they whipped Duke once, but i dont think they can do it two times in a season. UNC will beat wake about as bad as kansas beat carolina in the final four last year. Last year those Dukies watched their team beat Carolina once and with about the same players this year, dont think Duke couldn't do it again.
