May 28th, 2009

2009 NBA DRAFT NBA Mock Draft - Top 100 Prospects - NBA Team Needs/Capsules - 2010 Draft

Ed Davis

College: North Carolina

Class: Sophomore

Position: PF

Height: 6’10”

Weight: 215lbs

Accolades: ACC All-Freshman Team (09), Third Team All-Freshman - CHN (09), Mr. Basketball - Virginia - high school (08), McDonald’s All-American - high school (08), Second Team Parade All-American - high school (08).

Scouting Report: A long, athletic post player.

Strengths: Explosive athlete. Powerful in the post. Good hands. Finishes strong above the rim. Terrific shot blocker. Good rebounder. Good genes - dad Terry was a long-time NBA player. Left handed. Seven-foot wingspan. Championship experience.

Weaknesses: Still very inexperienced. Poor free throw shooter. Needs to add more weight/strength for the NBA. Needs the experience being a focal point of a collegiate team.

Projected 2010 Draft Range: Top 10 pick.

Consensus: After showing flashes of his potential his freshman year, Ed Davis made the right choice to return to Chapel Hill. If he continues to progress, he’ll be one of the first names called in the 2010 draft.
