POINT GUARD TRANSFERS - AGAIN; PAIR OF BIG EAST SENIORS SUSPENDED

September 5th, 2008

How about this slate of birthdays. Mine was today, my wife's is Sunday and my daughter turns 5 on Wednesday. Anyway, that basically means the blog won't be quite as active in the next few days as usual. If anyone wants to update me with some NFL action on Sunday with texts, etc., it would be much appreciated. CHARLOTTE POINT GUARD TRANSFERRING - AGAINMichael Gerrity has transferred – again.

The Charlotte floor leader, who sat out the first semester last
season after transferring from Pepperdine, has decided to leave the 49ers.

``I'm very surprised and disappointed with Mike's
decision," Charlotte coach Bobby Lutz said in a statement.``However, I have to
respect what he and his family have decided is best for him. I hope that things
turn out the way he wants them to."

Gerrity averaged 4.7 points in 19.1 minutes last season.

RUTGERS SUSPENDS TWO

Rutgers coach Fred Hill has suspended seniors
J.R. Inman and Jaron Griffin for the start of the season for violating team
polices.

“Accountability is extremely important in the development of a successful
program,” Hill said. “Jaron and JR are team leaders and valuable members of our
basketball family. How they respond to what has been asked of them will
determine the lengths of their suspensions. We expect them to grow from their
mistakes and serve as positive role models for our underclassmen.”No Comments
