UNLV (22-6) at New Mexico (22-7)
9:00 PM
With an RPI of 27, and marginally good OOC wins against teams like San Diego, Minnesota, Nevada, and UTEP.. UNLV is basically a Tournament lock. New Mexico meanwhile is barely in the field of 65, right there with Virginia Tech on the edge of the bubble. The Lobos have a lot of wins, but are just 2-5 against Top 100 teams.. which is rather pathetic. They are a rather good home team, but lost to the MWC's other top teams (BYU & SDSU) at home.. so a win tonight is not a given. UNM is the safe pick (a loss is simply not an option for them), but I like UNLV against the 6 point spread.
Prediction: New Mexico

#15 Purdue (23-6) at Ohio State (17-12)
7:00 PM ESPN
The Buckeyes are an embarrassing 0-9 against Top 50 teams.. but did play Wisconsin and Indiana pretty evenly in Columbus. Though they're on the outside looking in right now, a win over Purdue wouldn't place them very far behind teams like UNM or VT in the pecking order. I actually like Buckeyes to pull out a low-scoring 57-52 type win.
Prediction: Ohio State

Miami (14-13) at Kent State (23-6)
7:00 PM ESPN
Despite the wide gap in overall record, these two teams are more similar talent-wise than you'd think. Miami played a brutal non-conference schedule and their last 4 conference losses either went to OT or were decided near the final buzzer. With that said, Kent State is still the favorite at home where they're 14-0.. but the 6-point spread is enticing.
Prediction: Kent State
