Joshua Bone Leaves Southern Illinois
CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois University men's basketball coach Chris Lowery announced Monday that junior guard Joshua Bone has left the program and plans to transfer at the end of fall semester.
"Josh has been an important part of our program the last two years, and we appreciate everything he's done in a Saluki uniform," Lowery said.
Bone played in every game last season and started 19 games. He was the team's fourth-leading scorer at 8.1 ppg and led the team in 3-point shots made with 57.
The Salukis recently returned from a three-game exhibition trip to Canada, where Bone played 40 minutes and averaged 1.3 ppg.
"I want to thank all of the coaches for recruiting me and giving me an opportunity to play here," Bone said. "There are no hard feelings. After going to Canada, I was unsure what my role would be on this team. I prayed about it, talked it over with my family, and we felt the best decision for me was to go somewhere else."
