NCAA Tournament: Historical Success by Seed

This chart shows how each seed has fared over the six rounds
of each tournament since 1985 (the start of the 64 team tournament). For Example
the #1 Seeds have won 100 of 100 games in the first round, but 4 times a #2 seed
has lost. The #1 Seeds have made it to the finals 24 times and have won 15 of
them. The #4 seeds have made it to the finals only twice however.
Note that #6 seeds have performed noticeably better than #5 seeds, because they don't have to go through the 1 seeds so early.
