The
Important Questions
CHN experts answer the
important questions that are on your mind this week. We know
you're not thinking about your wife, or your job, or even your kids this
week. No, this week is devoted to college basketball, and only
college basketball.
Question #4: What teams are seeded too low?
Why does the committee always
favor the power conferences? Who knows, maybe it's all the cash they
have. Just an idea..
Brad Best -
San Diego State
Louisville should have been three and they got a bad draw to boot.
Kristi Chartrand -
Kansas
No surprise
here. I think
Louisville should’ve at least been a 3. 29-4???
They win their conference tourney??? I mean they played their way to
that seeding despite a down year for Conference USA. All in all I think
the committee did an excellent job seeding.
Richard "The Professor"
Cheeks - Kentucky Wildcats
Louisville. As I described above, Louisville is a legitimate Final Four
contender, and to give them a #4 seed with only 4 losses, one of which
to Kentucky is too low. At least a #3, and probably a #2.
Dan Curry -
DCI National Ranking
Old
Dominion dominated a better-than-average conference and should have been
seeded higher than a 12.
Sydney Hunte -
MAAC
Kentucky
Bill "Cigarboy" Kintner
- College Basketball Interviews
Louisville. Just a few days ago U of L was being mentioned as a
possible one seed. I think a three was more appropriate. They have
played pretty good ball during Feb.
Mark Marra -
CCSU Blue Devils
Florida or Louisville. Both
got shafted, especially Florida with their potential match ups
Ed Matisik -
NCAA Legal Issues
George
Washington. I probably would have put around them around #8 or #9.
They're a very athletic team and Georgia Tech will have their hands
full. (Full disclosure: I went to med school at GW, so there's more
than a little person fondness for the Colonials here.)
David Mihm -
Bracketology.com
Louisville, no question.
Adam Stanco -
National
Commentary
Louisville. The
Cardinal blowout loss to Memphis on February 9th must have
resonated in the minds of the Tournament Committee. Louisville has won
nine in a row since that game and is playing as well as any team in the
nation.
Jon Teitel -
Ivy League
George
Washington. The Colonials finished 22-7 after starting the season 11-2
(including a win over Michigan State) and finishing the season 10-2
(including the Atlantic 10 Tournament), yet were “rewarded” with a
double-digit seed from the selection committee.
Dan Vance -
Indiana Schools
Syracuse.
Everyone knows that The Orange had their fair share of troubles this
year. But the fact of the matter is that they deserved better than a 4
seed. Most teams would be thankful for that spot, but Jim Boeheim should
be irate. The 'Cuse should be number two.
Joel Welser -
Monday Mailbag
UCLA. I'm
surprised that they ended up on the same line as the last two in (UNI
and UAB).
