The preseason
favorite in the America East conference held on to earn the regular season
and conference tournament titles. Jamar Wilson is a tremendous scorer, but
the turnovers will need to be kept under control. The inside game is strong
for a small conference team with 7-1 Kirsten Zoellner and 6-8 sophomore
Brent Wilson. The depth for the big guys isn’t there, so the Great Danes
will have to stay out of foul trouble, which they haven’t done too well all
season. The long ball isn’t a huge part of Albany’s offense, but Jon Iati
and the Wilsons can knock them down. Albany doesn’t have much of a shot of
upsetting anybody, but just getting there is a proud accomplishment for a
program that has been in Division I for just six years.
