A quick glance at the bad losses and it quickly becomes apparent that this
is a good team. Clifton Lee is the scorer, but there are nine other players
that will play a big role for the Demons in the tournament. Northwestern
State scores 76 points per game and ranks in the top 15 in the nation in
assists. The turnover numbers are bad, but that isn’t the fault of senior
point guard Tyronn Mitchell, who averages 5.0 assists and about half that in
the turnover category. NSU is going to have trouble out-rebounding bigger
and strong competition, and centers Bryon Allen and Alfonse Dyer are going
to have to help Lee on the glass. The team won’t take too many three’s, but
Jermaine Wallace can knock them down with consistency, and he’ll need to if
the Demons are thinking upset.
