The Panthers
might be the biggest surprise on top of the Big East. Heading into the
season there were questions regarding the heart and mind of Carl Krauser.
Krauser proved that he was the team leader this year. However, big man
Aaron Gray, is the other main story. The 7-0 junior is averaging a
double-double and provides a nice presence in the paint. Along with Gray,
Sam Young and Levon Kendall do a stellar job on the glass, helping Pitt
remain in the top 10 in the nation in rebounding margin. Krauser averages
around 32 minutes per game and tired legs might be an issue there, but
nobody else on the squad is approaching 30 minutes per contest. This is a
team that can go nine or ten deep without much of a drop in talent.
