The stifling
Seahawk defense won them the regular season and conference tournament titles
in the CAA. The opposition shoots only 39% and scores a measly 59.0 points
per game against them. The backcourt duo of T.J. Carter and John Goldsberry
combine to average 3.6 steals, 6.9 assists and just 3.6 turnovers per game.
With a couple of veterans like that in the backcourt and a deep
frontcourt of Todd Hendley, Mitch Laue, Beckham Wyrick, Vladimir Kuljanin
and Dejan Grkovic, UNC Wilmington will be a very tough out. The Seahawks
don’t have the scorers to get into a shootout, so dictating tempo will be a
huge key for Coach Brad Brownell.
