2006 NCAA Tournament Capsule: UWM

Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers (21-8)

Horizon: 1st, 12-4

RPI: 54 AP: na

Big Wins: St. Louis (82-71), Hawaii (58-52), at UIC (68-45)

Bad Losses: at Tennessee Tech (67-72), at UWGB (77-84), at Wright St (54-59)

Last NCAA Appearance: 2005, Sweet Sixteen

Top Players:

Joah Tucker, Sr, F, 16.5 ppg, 6.2 rpg

Boo Davis, Sr, G, 16.1 ppg, 1.1 apg

Adrian Tigert, Sr, F, 12.9 ppg, 7.3 rpg

Chris Hill, Sr, G, 7.9 ppg, 2.8 apg

Not many teams can say they start five seniors.  Even when Adrian Tigert missed two games, another senior, Derrick Ford, came in to take over the starting job.  That’s experience.  And it is not just Horizon League experience; these guys were in the Sweet Sixteen last year.  The Panthers are a solid rebounding team and won’t be intimidated by anybody.  Tigert, along with Joah Tucker and Boo Davis, are tremendous scorers.  However, they will need contributions from some other players in order to have another Sweet Sixteen run.  Watch out for Chris Hill and Allan Hanson to fill that role with some three-point shooting.

Likely Finish: First Round
