Why They Can
Surprise:
Thanks to Caleb
Green, Oral Roberts has a dominating frontcourt. The 6-8 power forward leads
the team with 20.8 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals per contest. His
frontcourt mate, Shawn King, has stepped in and done a good job of taking
the pressure off of Green. King has great shot blocking abilities and will
do enough on the offensive end to make the opposition think twice about
doubling Green.
One of the best
inside/outside duos in the nation is Green and Ken Tutt. Tutt is an amazing
outside shooter and will use his quickness to get to the basket with ease.
The senior rarely fails to reach double-digits in scoring and can take over
a game whenever he needs to.
Why They Can
Disappoint:
Adam Liberty
transferred in from Wichita State and immediately took over the point guard
duties. Liberty has a solid, athletic build and will use his strength to get
to the basket and find an open teammate. Unfortunately for ORU, Liberty is
one of the few players with a positive assist-to-turnover ratio and his is
not anything to get excited about. Turnovers have plagued the Golden Eagles
this year. In their ten regular season losses, ORU committed 162 turnovers
and only dished out 114 assists, culminating in a six assist, 23 turnover
effort against Tulsa.
Who To
Watch:
Yemi Ogunoye
has earned the starting role on the wing due to his defense, but Marchello
Vealy and Moses Ehambe provide the scoring spark off the bench. Vealy is an
explosive athlete and, at 6-7, has the ability to play at the three or four
spots. He will use his ups to get on the glass and do a little shot
blocking. Ehambe, the prototypical long range shooter, can score in bunches
off the bench.
