VCU over Mason? eh

Illinois St. and Utah St. higher in my book, but the overall list of teams looks pretty good. VCU, Temple and WKU are be the most questionable to me, pending WKU's game tonight. My list would probably have Mason and Portland St. in, with those other three in a fight with teams like Charleston, Houston and Cleveland St. on the fringes.

 Still, a pretty good list, I think.

You are Nuts do you watch college basketball? First Off There's no way UNLV is 9. I would love to know how is BYU, Gonzaga, Saint Mary's, Or Davidson better. BYU has played 2 Quality tourny teams and lost them both. There one good win was against Utah St. they haven't There resume is not NCAA tourny quality. Same goes for Davidson i can see you have a man crush on Curry like everyone else. but when you have one decent win against a WVU team that was missing it's starting guard its gotta take more than that. I dont even want to start with Gonzaga yes they have the talent but for some reason there losing. They've lost 4-5 against Arizona, Portland St, Utah, And Connecticut. Sorry 7-4 isn't worth anything. yeah St. MAry's record is good but who have they beat? there best win is against San Diego St. and they lost @ UTEP a team UNLV beat. UNLV is 13-2 they have won 8 in a row and are doing it without there best player Wink Adams. They beat Arizona by 15. The same team that beat Gonzaga and Kansas. Then we beat Louisville on the road Without Wink. Come on do a little Research before you do these postings. You just dont look smart. UNLV should be in the top 3-4..........

Putting Temple in this list is interesting but tough. Yes they did beat Tennessee and Penn State, but I think there are other teams that should be ahead of a 6-6 team. What about Lehigh?

Its all about the schedule.. 6-6 now looks eh, but they've played the toughest schedule in the country with clemson, tennessee, kansas, villanova, not to mention penn state (solid), miami (best team in mac probably), charleston (one of the best mid-majors out there), and even kent state, etsu, and lbsu will all finish the season with winning records. plus, most of those games were on the road or a neutral court. give most ranked teams outside of the elites that schedule and they'd all have at least 3 losses.

Just when you think man is evolving, someone does something like this and puts everything in doubt! This poll is less about basketball ratings and more about a website's ratings. BCS or non-BCS, this is not a real genious way of rating things. We always find ways to make more and more distinctions between big and small, powerful and powerless. This poll doesn't say anything: And, the winner of this year's non-beef, non-registered national chili cook-off championship is? Uncle Bob's home slop from Oneida, Tennessee. I guess that mean's Uncle Bob can put a "Best Chili in America" sign on his store. (Hopefully, you'll get the metaphor here). And another thing, "non"-BCS has a negative connotation, like somehow the multi-purpose, whole-grain BCS is somehow better. Why do we feel the need to do this? I would imagine DePaul's basketball players, if given the chance, would trade places with Xavier or Gonzaga. I think the same might be said for Auburn, Georgia or, recently, NC State. Certainly, Virginia players might see a "non"-BCS school like Xavier as less "non" and more "not again!" given the beatdown they recently took in Charlottesville. The whole BCS thing is ridiculous. Georgetown is a BCS school without a BCS football team and the term BCS refers to football. It's like painting a stripe on a black cat and calling it a skunk. Come on! Get a clue! If anything, you've got the "Big, Mega Bucks Schools that may or may not have a BCS football team" and the "OTHER THAN Big, mega Bucks Schools that may or may not have a football team." At the very least, like it or not, I'd take XU's recreational football team over the Buckeyes in a bowl game.

It sounds like you have less of an issue with the poll itself and more of an issue with the BCS and NCAA.

You said that you placed Temple where they are because of schedule and yet Xavier has played the #2 SOS in the country and is #4 in the RPI with a win OVER your #1 Memphis. How does that work? Dayton has barely beatin' the weak (191 SOS) schedule they played and are offensively challenged. They got hammered by Creighton! The only team that makes sense is Butler but they should be #1 or at worse #2.

What a joke! Why would any team like Memphis,Gonzaga, or Xavier want to be classified as non-anything. They have played and beaten the so called BCS programs. Memphis was in the finals last year and X has been to 2 Elite 8's in the last 5 year! Those teams don't play in the bracket busters for a reason. Their schedules and wins speak for themselves. I guess this is just another website looking to get hits from low major teams but this classification system is an embarrassment.
