Daily Dribble: 2009 NCAA Tournament Projection

April 8th, 2008

We're only one day beyond the 2008 National Championship Game.. but its never too early to start thinking about next year's Tournament. Here's an early projection of the 2009 NCAA Tournament field:

Mindless Dribble: Memphis Owns UCLA in Semifinals Win

April 5th, 2008

Once Memphis took the lead after 5 minutes.. they never looked back, rolling to a 78-63 win over UCLA.

Kansas vs UNC: Individual Player Comparison

April 4th, 2008

You might say that grading individual matchups is a waste of time.. that it's all about the "team".. and I say, you're probably right. But its still fun to compare individual talent.. so we begin with UNC's starting five vs Kansas.

Tom Crean To Accept Indiana Job

April 1st, 2008

At the bottom of every sunken ship is a hidden treasure.. or at least that's what Tom Crean hopes. The nine-year Marquette coach is set to become the new Indiana Hoosiers head coach.

Sutton Out at Oklahoma State

April 1st, 2008

Sean Sutton's two year stint as Oklahoma State head coach is reportedly coming to an end. Various outlets are saying Sutton is being "forced out" regardless of whether he ends up technically resigning or not.

Sutton's brief record is 39-29 over two seasons with two NIT losses. Making things worse for Sutton is the lack of talent on the horizon. The Cowboys have two players locked up for next year who are glorified high-major prospects, while rival Oklahoma is bringing in Top 20 recruit Willie Warren.

Mindless Dribble: Kansas Escapes With Win over Davidson

March 30th, 2008

Four #1 seeds have never made the Fi.. oh well, I guess we can throw out Bracket Tactic #17 from next year's batch. Unlike Xavier, Louisville, and Texas.. at least Davidson seemed up the challenge. The Wildcats didn't necessarily bring their A-game, but it seemed like C+ was enough to get it done on Sunday evening. The national media has had their full share of thoughts on this game, but here are a few other nuggets to chew on:

CBS Coverage Maps: Sweet Sixteen Friday

March 28th, 2008

One of the fun but also sometimes frustrating aspects of the NCAA Tournament is that CBS televises multiple games at once. This can lead to some exciting in-game looks at close exciting games, but it also means you might be missing the game you really want to see. CBS released their coverage maps of Friday's Sweet Sixteen action, and I've linked to the maps for each time-slot below.
