Daily Dribble: Top 30 Big East Players

After a lengthy delay, I finally present the Top 30 players in the Big East. The ranking is expanded from the Top 25 due to size of the monstrous 16-team league. The Big East's Top 5 might not be as good as some other BCS leagues, but no conference comes close in terms of the overall talent pool

1. Dominic James, PG, Marquette - Coming off a down year, James will be playing for his NBA career
2. Roy Hibbert, C, Georgetown - Improving big man gives Hoyas a unique presence down low
3. Terrence Williams, SF, Louisville - Explosive Cardinal just a better FG% from being #1 on this list
4. Jeff Adrien, PF, UCONN - Double-Double machine should be All-Conference
5. Eugene Harvey, PG, Seton Hall - Dynamic sophomore should improve as a playmaker
6. Scottie Reynolds, PG, Villanova - Sophomore was a godsend for Jay Wright
7. Kentrell Gransberry, PF, South Florida - 16 and 11 per game is no joke
8. Eric Devendorf, SG, Syracuse - Has a chance to contend for Big East scoring title
9. Geoff McDermott, G/F, Providence - Junior is a stat-lovers dream
10. Jerel McNeal, G, Marquette - Defensive stud can also score and pass the ball
11. Edgar Sosa, PG, Louisville - One of many solid sophomore guards in the league
12. Paul Harris, SF, Syracuse - Coming off decent freshman year, should now play 30+ minutes per game
13. Jonathan Wallace, G, Georgetown - Not many guards shoot 50%+ from the floor
14. Rob Kurz, PF, Notre Dame - Bruising forward leads underrated team
15. AJ Price, PG, UCONN - This will be the year Price finally becomes a star
16. Brian Laing, SG, Seton Hall - Not many who average 17 and 7 per game get such little respect
17. Hasheem Thabeet, C, UCONN - Calhoun hopes Thabeet progresses like Hibbert above
18. Deonta Vaughn, PG, Cincinnati - Quietly had solid rookie season for the Bearcats
19. Levance Fields, PG, Pittsburgh - Junior sparkplug will need to improve scoring this year
20. Sharaud Curry, PG, Providence - Great ft-shooter needs to improve decision-making skills
21. Luke Harangody, Notre Dame - Averaged 16 and 9 per 30 minutes as a freshman
22. Weyinmi Efejuku, SG, Providence - Junior scorer gets better and better from outside
23. David Padgett, C, Louisville - Veteran continues to contribute despite injury history
24. Derrick Caracter, PF, Louisville - Heralded talent just needs to get minutes to shine
25. DaJuan Summers, PF, Georgetown - Has a chance to be All-Conference in a year or two
26. Jerome Dyson, SG, UCONN - Sophomore needs to improve consistency and all-around play
27. Darris Nichols, PG, West Virginia - Perhaps the league's most underrated player
28. Nyal "Mac" Koshwal, C, DePaul - Has potential to be a monster for the Blue Demons
29. Jonny Flynn, PG, Syracuse - Speedy point guard could be boon for the Orange offense
30. Anthony Mason Jr, PF, St. John's - Bright spot on an otherwise blah roster

Alvin Mitchell, SG, Cincinnati - High-scoring freshman should have no problem scoring
John Williamson, PF, Cincinnati - Should be helped by Cincy's improved frontcourt size
