Seven Day Stretch: Championship Week Review
March 13th, 2008The “Curse” bit Stanford, Valparaiso, Arizona and even me last week. That’s right; I was the victim of my own making. I went on a national radio show to talk a bit on the upcoming NCAA Tournament and when asked about which team I thought was “this year’s George Mason”, I talked about South Alabama. The Jaguars lost that very night on their home floor to put their NCAA status in serious doubt. Sorry, Jags…next time I’ll keep my mouth shut.

With conference play just getting under way, this is the time of year that men separate from the boys. A couple of youngsters have popped up on the ACC’s All-December list. Will they rise to the challenge in conference play?

CHN is doing BCS all-conference
teams in December? Perhaps it is a tad early, but it should be interesting
comparing the names on the All-November to the names that ultimately make the
grade come March. As all fans know, not all non-conference schedules are made
the same, so these lists are weighted more heavily towards the top players on
the top teams in the nation who have played the top competition - the top of the
tops. We’ll start things off with the Atlantic Coast Conference:

2007-08 ACC Stats Preview

This is the first of what will be six mini statistical previews of the major conferences. Each one includes projected starting lineups, projected stats for each player, and a short comment.
Boston College
G Tyrese Rice - 19, 3, 5
G Biko Paris - 6, 2, 4
F Rakim Sanders - 7, 4, 2
F Shamari Spears - 9, 5, 1
C John Oates - 8, 5, 1
6 Tyrelle Blair - 4, 6, 0
This lineup is by no means certain. If Paris doesn't perform, Rice could simply handle point guard duties. Blair also could get the minutes over Oates due to his defensive presence.

My Thoughts on Coach Yow, Rameses, Barton.. and more
March 25th, 2007Well, the Final Four is set, and with three of my picks still alive (Memphis was the other), bracket entry "rjaymoose will not win" indeed has a shot to take first place. All I need is for Florida to beat Georgetown next Monday, but both have their work cut out for them before the even get to that point. While the games were going on, there were two stories involving hoops on Tobacco Road that caught my attention.
