The success of the current freshmen class has been well documented. Between Michael Beasley, Kevin Love, Eric Gordon, Derrick Rose, Jerryd Bayless, Donte Green, and O.J. Mayo, the class boasts plenty of future lottery picks and likely NBA stars. Even the second-tier of players, guys like Jonny Flynn, Kyle Singler and Nick Calathes, have made major impacts, and will likely be suiting up for NBA squads sometime in the near future.

Curtis posted season highs of 22 points and 11 rebounds in helping Ole
Miss remain perfect at 8-0 on the year with a hard-fought 76-71 win over
Winthrop in a neutral-site game in Jackson, Miss.
He has collected four double-doubles in the last six games.
The senior center finished three points shy of his career high and
made good on 10-of-12 from the floor to improve his season field-goal
percentage to .712, which ranks second in the SEC.

Mid-August is here, and that means that we're that much closer to the beginning of the 2007 college football season. One team that may not have the best outlook on the upcoming year is Pittsburgh. In the first two years of the Dave Wannstedt era, the Panthers have failed to qualify for a bowl game, going 5-6 and 6-6 respectively. This despite Wannstedt bringing in some highly-regarded recruiting classes, and the new certainly hasn't gotten any better the past week or so.

Ole Miss Adds Top 100 Recruit Malcolm White

OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss basketball team is adding the nation's 67th-ranked recruit, as head coach Andy Kennedy announced Monday that Malcolm White has signed a national letter of intent. The 6-foot-9, 225-pound forward will be a freshman for the Rebels during the 2007-08 campaign.
White is rated a four-star player by Rivals and the No. 19 power forward in the 2008 class. He was also tabbed as the 16th-best recruit in the Southeast by Youth Prep Stars.

OXFORD, Miss. - Andy Kennedy continues to strengthen his Ole Miss basketball team in the late signing period, announcing the signing of JUCO forward Terrence Watson to a national letter of intent Tuesday.
A 6-foot-5, 220-pound native of Detroit, Watson earned All-America honors this season after leading Mott Community College (Flint, Mich.) to the NJCAA Division II National Championship. Watson was the Defensive Player of the Year in the conference and helped the Bears post a 60-9 over his two seasons at MCC.
