You might say that grading individual matchups is a waste of time.. that it's all about the "team".. and I say, you're probably right. But its still fun to compare individual talent.. so we begin with UCLA's starting five vs the Memphis Tigers.

	UCLA		Memphis
A-	Darren Collison	vs	Derrick Rose	A-
	Everyone loves Rose, but Collison is perhaps the most efficient guard in the country.		Blowing up in Big Dance, but not as effective in a halfcourt game

B	Russell Westbrook	vs	Chris Douglas-Roberts	A-
	Emerging talent provides spunk to bland team, and is pesky in the defensive lanes.		Tigers are at best when CDR is assertive going to the hole. Seriously underrated.

B-	Josh Shipp	vs	Antonio Anderson	C+
	Admittedly has had a weak tournament, but could easily pop in 15 points on Saturday.		Lengthy wing is quality defender and can sometimes knock down a three.

C+	Luc Richard Mbah a Moute	vs	Robert Dozier	C+
	Virtually same numbers and height as Dozier, though not as good as an athlete.		Quality all-around player that gets lost compared to big name teammates

A	Kevin Love	vs	Joey Dorsey	B
	UCLA's central rock is a better athlete than you think, and ideal for the halfcourt offense.		Tigers best defensive player is better at helpside D than man to man

Final: UCLA 2 - Memphis 1 - Ties 2

The way Shipp has been playing recently, it might seem generous to give him a better grade than Anderson. The only other controversial pick here is Collison being equal to Rose, but if anything I favor the UCLA point guard to win any given game.
