2008-09: McDonald's All-American College Lineups

36 teams will feature at least one McDonald's All-American next year.  Some programs like Duke feature a starting five full of high school superstars, while others like Rutgers and FSU are welcoming their first Big Mac Maestros.  Here are projected starting lineups for all 36 teams with an All-American.

Bucknell Announces Three Signings

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Head coach Pat Flannery has announced that three student-athletes have signed national letters of intent to play basketball at Bucknell beginning in 2008-09. Enoch Andoh, a 6’8” forward from San Jose, Calif. (Archbishop Mitty); Bryan Cohen, a 6’5” guard from Huntingdon Valley, Pa. (Abington Friends); and Probese Leo, a 6’9” native of the Bahamas who now plays at St. Pius X High School in Houston will all become Bison next season.

Houston Announces Four Signings

University of Houston head men’s basketball coach Tom Penders announced that Aubrey Coleman, Sean Coleman, Horace Dixon and Desmond Wade have signed to play with the Cougars in 2008-09.

“This was a great early signing period for our program,” Penders said. “We have filled a lot of needs and expect to sign one more player next spring.”

Aubrey Coleman is a 6-4 guard from Southwest Mississippi Community College in Summit, Miss. Coleman averaged 23 points, four rebounds, five assists and five steals as a freshman at Southwest last season.

Hofstra Signs Three to Letters of Intent

Hempstead, NY (Nov. 28) * The Hofstra Men’s Basketball program signed three players to national letters of intent during the early signing period, it was announced today by Head Coach Tom Pecora.

The three signings include two current teammates at Broward Community Colleg in Florida, 6-9, 250-pound forward Miklos Szabo (Szeghalom, Hungary/Toth Arpad
School) and 6-2, 175-pound guard Tony Dennison (Long Island City, NY/Bryant High School). In addition, 6-2, 165-pound guard Yves Jules (Brooklyn, NY/Canarsie High School) also committed to the Pride.

IUPUI Inks Zach Fields and Larry Stone

INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI basketball program and head coach Ron Hunter announced the signings of Zach Fields (North Vernon, Ind./Jennings County) and Larry Stone (Indianapolis, Ind./Howe Academy) to National Letters of Intent to join the Jaguars next season. Both signed during last week’s Fall signing period and will have four years of eligibility, beginning in 2008.

Duquesne Signs Johnny Higgins

PITTSBURGH – Duquesne University head men’s basketball coach Ron Everhart has announced the signing of combo guard Johnny Higgins (Baltimore, Md./Randallstown/Notre Dame (Mass.) Prep) to a National Letter of Intent.

The 6-1, 185-pound Higgins is the first fall signee for the 2008-09 recruiting class.

LMU Adds Two Recruits

Los Angeles, CA – High school standout guards Kwame Vaughn (6-5, Guard, Skyline High School – Oakland, CA) and Wendell Wright (6-3, Guard, Mayfair High School – Lakewood, CA) signed National Letters of Intent on Wednesday to join the Loyola Marymount men’s basketball program in the fall of 2008. Both Vaughn and Wright were named top guards in their league as juniors in 2006-07 and give LMU two more California products recruited by third-year Head Coach Rodney Tention.

Oregon Finalizes Top 10 Class

EUGENE, Ore. — Five high school players rated among the best at their positions nationally have signed National Letters of Intent with Oregon, head coach Ernie Kent announced Wednesday.

Oregon’s recruiting class has been ranked No. 7 nationally by Hoop Scoop, run by Clark Francis, and 11th nationally by both Rivals.com and Scout.com (Dave Telep).

Three of the signees are from Chicago: Josh Crittle, Michael Dunigan and Matthew Humphrey. The other two are Drew Wiley of Springfield, Ore., and Teondre Williams of Norcross, Ga.

Miller & Liggins Sign with Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky men’s basketball signed highly-rated high school seniors DeAndre Liggins and Darius Miller to National Letters of Intent Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period for college basketball.

"This is a great day for us; I am really excited about today,” said Billy Gillispie. “These guys are really good players, but they are better people and I am really excited about that. Their families are excited about being a part of Kentucky basketball."
