Team: KK Zagreb
Birth Year: 1987
Stats:
Position: C
Height: 7’1”
Weight: 238lbs
Accolades: Croatian U-20 National Team.
Scouting Report: A skilled, yet skinny, European big man.
Strengths: Very long player. Runs the floor well. Can score down low with either hand. Very good rebounder – also very good at keeping balls alive due to long wingspan. Very good passer – has been quoted as saying dishing out assists is his favorite part of the game. Reported to have good hands and a good understanding of the game.
Weaknesses: Very skinny – lacks NBA size and strength. Won’t be able to get good post position due to lack of strength. Not a great leaper – he says he doesn’t like dunking that much. Tends to play outside more than in the post. Doesn’t block shots.
Projected 2007 Draft Range: Late first round – early second round pick.
Consensus: Tomic may be a good pick for a team looking to draft a player and keep him overseas for a few years– he game needsome more seasoning. If he can get stronger physically and improve his post play (at both ends of the floor), he could find himself in the NBA one day.
