Five Minutes With a Star: Albany's Brian Lillis
Five Minutes With Brian Lillis.. Albany's Star Forward
In
his his senior season,
Brian Lillis' production has skyrocketed. His scoring average is up from 6.9
per game to 16.2, the Great Danes leader and one of the tops in the America
East. At 4-3 in league play, Albany is right in the midst of the AE race, and an
important game against leader UMBC awaits next week. The Iowa native was nice
enough to take some time to take part in our star player series:
CollegeHoops.net) Win or lose, what's the best game Albany has played so far?
Brian Lillis) Vermont (80-79, OT) has been our best game. Everyone played well and played together.
CHN) Do you think the team has played as well as its capable of?
BL) Not at all. We are a young team, but the new guys are starting to come around. Our defense needs to get better and we need to pay better attention to the other team’s strengths and tendencies.
CHN) Is there any opposition player that you've been particularly impressed with?
BL) Marcus Blakely (Vermont) is very athletic and that was impressive.
CHN) Grading your own play from A to F, what would you give yourself and why?
BL) I would give myself a C, because our team is under .500. We have played so many close games and have not gotten over the hump yet.
CHN) What are you most looking forward to in the 2nd half of the season?
BL) I am looking forward to the conference tournament and doing whatever it takes to win a conference championship.
