Jared Dudley: NBA Draft Profile
NBA Draft: Jared Dudley
College: Boston College
Class: Senior
Stats: ESPN.com
Position: SF/PF
Height: 6”7”
Weight: 225lbs
Accolades: Second Team All-ACC (06), All-ACC Tournament Team (06), First Team All-Big East (05), Big East Most Improved Player – co-winner (05), Big East All-Rookie Team (04), Third Team Freshman All-American – College Basketball News (04), All-State – California – high school (03).
Scouting Report: An experienced jack-of-all-trades.
Strengths: Great scorer – should end senior season with over 2000 lifetime points. Can score down low on the post up or facing the basket. Has good shooting range including a good three-point shot (currently shooting 42.5% for 3s). Very good rebounder – will finish with close to 1000 boards for his career. Very experienced – played his whole career in the ACC and the Big East. Tough defender and double-teamer.
Weaknesses: Not a very explosive athlete. Will be an NBA tweener – too small for the power forward spot and not athletic/quick/explosive enough for the wing. A little turnover prone.
Projected 2007 Draft Range: Mid second round pick.
Consensus: Dudley looks destined to be one of those players who were a much better college player than a pro. He will have to continue to improve his long range shooting ability and work on his quickness to stick in the NBA.
