March 22nd, 2007
by Jeff Fox
NBA Draft: Kyle Visser
College: Wake Forest
Class: Senior
Stats: ESPN.com
Position: C
Height: 6”11”
Weight: 244lbs
Accolades: Third Team All-ACC (07).
Scouting Report: A big man who had a breakout senior season.
Strengths: Good scorer in the post – can hit hooks with both hands. Good passer, even out of double-teams. Shoots for a very high percentage. Good rebounder. Good shotblocker. Very physical player.
Weaknesses: His senior season was his only above average season – not much of a factor his other three years in college. Does he possess NBA athleticism and quickness? Not a very good free throw shooter.
Projected 2007 Draft Range: Early second round pick.
Consensus: Visser huge improvement from his junior to senior season will pique NBA team’s interest – a lot of big men are late bloomers. If he works on his face up game and gets more athletic he could be a keeper.
