- Background
Edward N. Matisik, a native of Johnstown, Pa., is a writer, consultant, entrepreneur and attorney in Washington, D.C. He writes a monthly newsletter on college and university law and has written books on education law and the Americans with Disabilities Act, and is currently at work on his first novel. Mr. Matisik was a development officer for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the National Symphony Orchestra for over 12 years. He currently works for the athletic departments of St. Francis University of Pennsylvania, Georgetown University, and the University of Maryland in a variety of capacities related to gameday operations and statistics for those schools’ football, women’s basketball, and lacrosse teams. He holds his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Boston University, a master’s degree in arts management and his law degree from American University, and has attended medical school at George Washington University. He anxiously awaits the day that the American University Eagles finally make the NCAA men’s basketball tournament.
