not offended

For the first time in five years not one "snub" bothers me.

Early in this season it became clear we were suffering an ebb in talent nationwide. One easy way to account for this is to check the departing (OJ Mayo, Beasley, Derrick Rose, Kevin Love) and the newcomers (Tyreke Evans?).

No comparison. The Big East had a surprising number of talented players return, but few impact newcomers to accompany them. The ACC seems to be a little better in the middle, but only a handful of superstars exist in the Pac-10, Big 10, and Big 12.

The SEC is not worth a comment.

Overall, the mid-majors had a down year sadly. MVC, MAAC, West Coast and MAC did not contribute one team to the NCAA draw, and I am not convinced they deserved to.

Missouri Valley has some young teams, MAC has some new coaches. Hopefully the second tier ascends. The Atlantic 10 had a few nice teams, but overall next season should be better in the middle to bottom of the draw.

Still watching intently,

Andrew Force
