2005-06 SCHEDULES

Return to the 2005-06 College Basketball Preview

Ball State Basketball Schedule

A 15-game home schedule, including contests against Indiana, Butler and a home game in the 2006 ESPN Bracket Buster, highlight the 2005-06 Ball State men’s basketball schedule. All game times will be determined at a later date.

The Cardinals open the season with an exhibition contest against Saginaw Valley State -- coached by former BSU men’s basketball letterwinner Jamie Matthews -- before hosting Oakland City in the regular-season opener Nov. 19.  Five of Ball State’s six games in the month of December are against state schools with Butler, Anderson and Indiana all visiting Muncie.

The 18-game Mid-American Conference schedule begins Jan. 4 against Akron in Worthen Arena, followed by consecutive road trips to Ohio and Kent State.  The MAC Tournament begins March 6.

Due to contractual deadlines which were not met and not finding mutually agreed upon teams, the CoSIDA Classic which Ball State had agreed to host in November has been cancelled.

Ball State welcomes the return of five letterwinners and three starters to the 2005-06 squad.  Junior guard Peyton Stovall, who averaged a team-best 16.7 points per game a year ago, is the top returning scorer in the MAC this season.  He will be joined by seniors Anthony Kent and Tom Howland, while juniors Skip Mills and Darren Yates round out the returning Cardinals who saw game action last season.

Junior Charles Bass and redshirt freshmen Landon Adler and Anthony Newell also return for the Cardinals, while five newcomers will make their Ball State debut for sixth-year head coach Tim Buckley in 2005-06.
