CHN: What
do you expect the strengths and weaknesses of
this year’s team to be?
RW: Our
strength’s
– Depth and athleticism. In terms of weaknesses – a lot of
Change in our roster, we have seven new players.
CHN: Talk for a moment about which of your guys deserve more credit for working
hard in practice, in the workout room, and being leaders off the
court:
RW: It is my hope
that Sean Alarcon, Tavarus Harris, Jeff Parmer, and Seydou Kone
will bring that to our practices and locker room. Good players,
hard workers, good attitudes
CHN: Discuss the incoming guys for a bit. Who will make the
biggest impact?
RW: Jeff
Parmer joins us after playing at Providence College as a
freshman. Tavarus Harris is a point guard that will allow
us to play at a higher speed. Sanchez Hughley and Xavier
Perkins are freshman that will turn some heads and will be even
better with time.
CHN: How will you deal with
the senior losses?
RW:
We will
miss Rodney Webb and Quinton Young for their effort and
leadership every day at Practice and in the Locker Room. I want
that same kind of effort from both Brent Cruz and DeAndre Rice.
CHN: What other coaches really helped you reach the level of
success you’re at now?
RW: Roy
Williams and Pat Riley are two Coaches that I played for and
every day I draw upon my experiences from them. Also last year,
I had the opportunity to work for Matt Doherty and that was also
a great learning experience.
CHN: What are your realistic goals and
hopes for this season?
RW: Our Goal is
simple. Get Better Everyday and the rest will take care of
itself.
