Fantasy Basketball: Fantastic Voyage

 

Most fantasy basketball leagues involve NBA players rather than student-athletes on the collegiate level.  However, for those devoted souls out there who prefer fantasy college basketball, here are some players to keep an eye on in seven of the major conferences:

 

Fantasy studs

ACC: Julius Hodge (North Carolina State): leading his team in points (19.4 PPG), rebounds (7.4 RPG), assists (6.1 APG), and steals  (1.9 SPG)

 

Big East: Josh Boone (Connecticut): leading his team in points (15 PPG), leading the conference in rebounds (10.6 RPG) and blocks (3.8 BPG)

 

Big 10: Aaron Johnson (Penn State): leading his team in points (16.6 PPG), leading the conference in rebounds (11.2 RPG)

 

Big 12: Wayne Simien (Kansas): leading his team in points (17 PPG), leading the conference in rebounds (12.2 RPG)

 

Conference USA: Eddie Basden (Charlotte): 15 PPG, leading his team in rebounds (7.1 RPG) and assists (4.7 APG), leading the conference in steals  (3.9 SPG)

 

Pac-10: Ike Diogu (Arizona State): leading the conference in points (24.2 PPG) and rebounds (10.1 RPG)

 

SEC: Lawrence Roberts (Mississippi State): leading his team in points (16.4 PPG), leading the conference in rebounds (10.3 RPG)

 

Fantasy sleepers

ACC: Shawan Robinson (Clemson): leading his team in points (14.7 PPG) and assists (5 APG)

 

Big East: Quincy Douby (Rutgers): leading his team in points (18.7 PPG) and 3-PT field goals made (3 3-PT FG/game)

 

Big 10: Jeff Horner (Iowa): leading his team in points (16.1 PPG), assists (6.3 APG), and 3-PT field goals made (3.11 3-PT FG/game)

 

Big 12: Jared Homan (Iowa State): 16.9 PPG, leading his team in rebounds (9.7 RPG) and blocks (2 BPG)

 

Conference USA: Donell Taylor (UAB): leading his team in points (16.2 PPG), steals (3.4 SPG), and 3-PT field goals made (2 3-PT FG/game)

 

Pac-10: Tre Simmons (Washington): 17.2 PPG, leading his team with 5.5 RPG

SEC: CJ Watson (Tennessee): 14.5 PPG, leading his team in assists (4.7 APG) and steals (2.7 SPG)

 

Fantasy freshmen

ACC: Sean Singletary (Virginia): 10.1 PPG, leading his team with 4.1 APG and 2.1 SPG

 

Big East: Jeff Green (Georgetown): 12 PPG, leading his team with 7.3 RPG and 2.5 BPG

 

Big 10: Robert Vaden (Indiana): 11.2 PPG, leading his team with 5.7 RPG and 2.1 SPG

 

Big 12: Richard Roby (Colorado): 1.2 BPG, leading his team with 14.8 PPG and 2.4 SPG

 

Conference USA: Darius Washington (Memphis): 12.1 PPG, leading his team with 1.9 SPG

 

Pac-10: Aleksander Cuic (Oregon State): leading his team with 16.4 PPG and 5.4 RPG
