For the week, Loughton averaged 21.7 points and 8 rebounds per game, while shooting an impressive 58% from the floor. The native Australian is now second in the conference in points per game at 18.5 and tied for the lead in rebounding at 9.1. In the Monarchs most recent win at James Madison, Loughton scored 26 points, the 2nd highest total of his career.
Early in the year, Loughton went off for a career high 45 points in a 3 point overtime loss to Charlotte. His 45 point effort was the highest in ODU's Division One history, and tied for the second best in Colonial Athletic Association history. Last year, ODU struggled to a 12-15 record with Loughton averaging 8 ppg. Despite being predicted to finish 6th in the conference this year, the team has gotten off to a 9-4 start behind the strong play of Loughton.
