CollegeHoopsnet.com’s Unsung Player of the Week

CollegeHoopsnet.com announced that Murray State's Cuthbert Victor was named the nation’s Unsung Player of the Week, for the period ending February 4th, 2004. The 6-5 senior led the Racers to a pair of victories over Ohio Valley Conference rivals Eastern Kentucky & Morehead State.

For the week, Victor averaged 24 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks per game. The St. Croix, Virgin Islands native also shot 73% from the floor and even chipped in 5 steals. With the two wins, Murray State is now 17-4 on the season and is second place in the OVC with a 7-1 record. Despite being undersized at 6-5, Victor leads the conference in rebounding and is 4th in the entire nation with 11 board per game.

Victor is averaging 15.7 points and 11 rebounds per game under first year head coach Mick Cronin. Last season, he averaged 15.3 points and 8 rebounds per game as Murray won 17 games and finished 4th in the conference. The Racers started the 2003-04 season on fire with wins over Southern Miss, TCU, Western Kentucky, and Southern Illinois. On December 13th, Victor exploded for a career-high 35 points against Chicago State.
