With a plethora of talented players no longer in the league (Marreese Speights, Joe Crawford, Chris Lofton, Shan Foster, Richard Hendrix, Anthony Randolph), some new talented players to get excited about (Scotty Hopson, JaMychal Green, Darius Miller), some familiar faces returning to action (Ronald Steele, Tasmin Mitchell) and two fresh faces on the sidelines (Trent Johnson and Darrin Horn), the SEC is going to be mighty interesting this season.

SEC Player Grades

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Behind a career-best 30-point performance by senior guard Travis Holmes, VMI scored its first win over an SEC program in 32 years, stunning Kentucky, 111-103 in front of 22,579 stunned fans at Rupp Arena on Friday evening.

The Keydets (1-0) matched a facility record with 14 three-pointers, including five by sophomore gunner Austin Kenon.

Kentucky coach Billy Gillispie on the official signing of Jon Hood, Daniel Orton and GJ Vilarino:

"I'm really excited about all three of the players that we signed today.  They will all be terrific players for us and we are very fortunate to have them.  Our roster will get better with these three signees.  All three of them are great human beings.  They are all excited and all three of them love Kentucky."
