Buffalo Signs Jawaan Alston

BUFFALO, NY ­ Jawaan Alston (Uniontown, PA/Albert Gallatin) has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University at Buffalo and participate on the men¹s basketball team, according to head coach Reggie Witherspoon.

Alston is a 6-8 power forward who averaged 20.7 points and 11 rebounds per game as a junior last season at Albert Gallatin High School in Uniontown, PA. He was named third-team All-State last year. With 937 points, Alston is already Albert Gallatin's all-time leading scorer.

"We are really pleased to have Jawaan as part of our program," Witherspoon said. "He is a hard-working kid who we think has a tremendous upside. He is a big guy who moves very well and we are really excited for him to become a member of our basketball team."

The 2006-07 men¹s basketball season tips off on Friday, November 10 when the Bulls play Canisius at the Koessler Center at 8:15 pm.
