NBA Draft: Curtis Sumpter
College: Villanova
Class: Senior

News: Curtis Sumpter News Feed
Position: SF/PF
Height: 6”7”
Weight: 225lbs
Accolades: Second Team All-Big East (05), First Team All-Philadelphia Big Five (05), Third Team All-Big East (04), Philadelphia’s Big Five Most Improved Player (04).
Scouting Report: An experienced, scrappy player with injury concerns.
Strengths: Solid scorer and rebounder. Plays bigger than his size in the post. Good jumper. Decent inside/outside game. Good free throw shooter. Decent three-point shot. Very experienced player – was at Villanova for five years.
Weaknesses: Knees – Sumpter has had multiple surgeries on his knees due to injuries so that has to be a concern for any team drafting him. Is her quick enough to play the small forward spot in the NBA? Due to his redshirt season he will be already 23 years old on draft day.
Projected 2007 Draft Range: Last second round pick – undrafted.
Consensus: Sumpter was a borderline NBA prospect at best before his last knee surgery. Besides injury concerns, his main problem is that he is a NBA “tweener” – not big enough for the post, probably not quick enough for the wing spot.
