NBA Draft: Ron Lewis

College: Ohio State

Class: Senior

Stats: ESPN.com

Position: SG

Height: 6”4”

Weight: 200lbs

Accolades:  Second Team All-MAC (04), All-MAC Freshman Team (03).

Scouting Report: A strong, explosive scoring two-guard.

Strengths: Explosive scorer – capable of going off for 30 points in a game.  Very strong physically.  Has good hops – can finish strong above the rim.  Decent rebounder for his position.  Has three-point range on his jump shot.

Weaknesses: Very inconsistent – very often scores in single digits.  Doesn’t shoot for a very good percentage from the field and even worse from behind the three-point line.  Not a very good defender.  Only played two seasons in a big time conference.  Forces up some bad shots at times.

Projected 2007 Draft Range: Late second round pick – undrafted.

Consensus:  Lewis’ size, strength and scoring abilities should land him in an NBA training camp in the fall.  He needs to improve on the defensive end and become a more consistent shooter to stick around a while in the League.
