NBA Draft: Reyshawn Terry

College: UNC

Class: Senior

Stats: ESPN.com

Position: SF

Height: 6’8”

Weight: 232lbs

Accolades: Third Team All-ACC (06), Second Team All-ACC Tournament (06).

Scouting Report: An NBA-level athlete with a deadly three-point shot.

Strengths: Great size for the small forward spot.  Very athletic.  Crazy jumping ability – can get up and throw down dunks on defenders.  Very good three-point shooter – shot 41.8% over his college career from deep.  Good man-to-man defender.  Very good rebounder for his position.  Spent four years in one of the countries premier college programs.

Weaknesses:  Despite spending four years in school, he didn’t log a lot of court time – only average 14.4 minutes/game over his career.  Only averaged double figures in scoring one season – his junior year.  Tends too pick up fouls despite not playing a lot of minutes.  Saw his role, minutes and offensive output decrease his senior year.

Projected 2007 Draft Range:  Early to late second round pick.

Consensus:  No doubt Terry has the body, athleticism and shooting touch to find gainful employment in the NBA.  However, never getting big minutes at Carolina or being relied on to be the “man” leaves questions as to how much of an upside his game has.
