Taj Gibson

Taj Gibson

College: USC

Class: Junior

Position: PF

Height: 6’9”

Weight: 225lbs

Accolades: Third Team All-Pac-10 (08), First Team Pac-10 All-Defensive Team (08), Pac-10 All-Freshman Team (07).

Scouting Report: A scrappy, undersized post player.

Strengths: Superb shot blocker. Long wingspan. Great rebounder. Tough defender. Can score inside or knock down the face-up jumper. Can score with either hand in the post. Battles hard in the paint. Experienced - played big minutes for three seasons in the Pac-10.

Weaknesses: Age - will be 24-years-old when next NBA season commences. Will be undersized for the post in the NBA. Poor free throw shooter. Foul prone. Pretty inconsistent his first two seasons in college.

Projected 2009 Draft Range: Early to mid second round pick.

Consensus: Taj Gibson might carve out a NBA career due to his defense and length, but more than likely he’ll spend most of his career as a minor league/European player.

Wow - got this one wrong

Taj Gibson is now a major contributor to the Chicago Bulls 2011 playoff run. One of the most exciting players in the NBA. Glad you're not drafting for the Blazers.
