High-Major is comprised of the A-10, CUSA, MVC, MWC, WAC, and WCC. The six leagues historically the best after the BCS leagues.
Yesterday CHN announced its 2008-09 All-Americans, but it's already time to look forward to next season. I've done my best to predict who will go pro or not and have come up with my early look at the 2009-10 All-America Teams. Disagree with these picks? Post your thoughts in the comments section.
CollegeHoops.net Player of the Year:
The Story: Blake Griffin, the leading rebounder in the nation, was the only unanimous selection for the All-American team. Griffin received 71 first-team votes. The voters submit the ballots before the NCAA tournament. The Sooners were bounced from the tournament yesterday by North Carolina, led by fellow All-American Tyler Hansbrough. Hansbrough was a unanimous selection last year while also being named the consensus player of the year as a junior. This is the fourth straight season that he has earned All-American honors.
And then their were four. Pitt and Villanova put on a performance for the ages, with Scottie Reynolds buzzer-beating layup sure to be replayed for many years to come. While Reynolds was the man of the hour for Villanova, he wasn’t good enough to crack CHN’s five man All-Elite Eight squad.
Apparently someone forgot to send Syracuse the memo that this year’s Elite Eight was going to be renamed “The Big East Invitational”. Despite the Big East dominating the outcomes of the Sweet 16 games, a couple of other conferences dominate CHN’s All-Sweet Sixteen Team.
