The weekly Bracketology field is based on how the tourney looks "as of this moment." My weekly Bracketology updates are usually released later on Mondays. In late February into March, I release Bracketology updates daily as the season approaches crunch time.
Why should you care what I have to say? Did you know in 2007 & 2008, I was considered to have one of the Top 2 or 3 brackets amongst 53 national experts including Joe Lunardi, Gary Parrish and the like. (Admittedly my 2009 final bracket was rather weak.. not sure what happened. Can't win 'em all.)
Movement:
This is the second update of the season (missed last week due to the holidays).. hence a ton of changes. Arrows indicate movement by seed. Green indicates new to the field this week. Too many changes to run through them all this week..

until conference play starts,i post the rpi leader from each conference as the projected champ. this makes it slightly more "objective" and takes my predictions of who will or wont be good out of it.

Really? Do you think San Jose can get passed teams like Utah State and even Lousiania Tech?
read the above post and the header of the conference champs section..

Seriously?
They've shown sparks and they're definitely going to be better, but atop the conference? I don't see it happening. It's going to be Utah State, Nevada and Idaho battling for the autobid.

But I don't think SJSU was ever atop the standings, and definitely not on Dec. 1. Louisiana Tech had the WAC's best record (5-1) as of that date, with Idaho at 4-1 in second place.
before losing to smc the other night, they were slightly ahead of nevada. even though they only had 1 d1 win, because pacific was 50th in rpi at the time sjsu beat them and they played at #13 washington, they're SOS was one of the top 2-3 in the country. just a statistical oddity
what happened to kansas ??
i see you changed the big 12 pick to texas , i still think jayhawks run the table in the big 12 this year
