CollegeHoops.net's Jon Teitel spent a lot of time Monday on conference calls with some of the biggest coaches & players in college basketball. Here are highlights of what the coaches & players had to say about their team's chances in the 2009 NCAA Tournament

XAVIER

Coach Sean Miller
Q: What is your team like this year?
A: I am proud of our senior class, who will be playing in their 4th NCAA tourney. We are battle-tested, and our kids are used to playing in big games. Our strengths are defense and rebounding. Basketball is important at Xavier, and the A-10 really fits who we are since moving there several years ago.

Q: What do you know about Portland State?
A: Jeremiah Dominguez is a terrific little player who reminds me of our own former 5'6" guard Drew Lavender, who was the heart and soul of our recent teams.

Q: What do you think of your team's chances?
A: We went 5-5 in our last 10 games with a couple of tough losses. We have not played our best, but I would not say that we are "struggling". We earned our seed back in December and January.

Q: Is it extra-special to have some of your former bosses in the tourney?
A: No: Herb Sendek has done an amazing job, and Thad Matta's program speaks for itself, but I am just focused on my own team right now.
