The biggest upset of the tournament just flew on by. The 11th seeded Dayton Flyers defeated the 6th seeded West Virginia Mountaineers. Dayton was shown the way by sophomore forward Chris Wright. Wright led all scorers with 27 points. West Virginia trailed the entire game and made it close towards the end. But, Dayton's defense was too much for Huggie Bear's squad to overcome.

West Virginia shot only 36.7% from the field and 26.3% from long distance. They were unable to convert on multiple opportunities down the stretch and it killed them. The victory over Bob Huggins is extra sweet for Dayton. Huggins owned Dayton for many years while he was the coach of the Cincinnati Bearcats. Now the Flyers are riding high and will face the defending champion Kansas Jayhawks on Sunday. Don't count out the Flyers in this one...
