On Tuesday, night DeMarcus Cousins who is widely considered a top 5 prospect in the class of 2009 made his college decision for a third time. This time he decided to follow Coach John Calipari to Kentucky after he took the job.
The first school he committed to was UAB and Coach Mike Davis but when they refused to put a clause in his letter of intent that would allow him out of his commitment if Coach Davis were to leave the school, he re-opened his recruitment.
Then he made the decision of picking Memphis and Coach John Calipari which helped form one of the best recruiting classes. That all changed when Coach Cal decided to take the Kentucky job.
Now that Coach Calipari has secured his big man he will turn up the pressure on point guard John Wall (Word of God, NC) who is the number one point guard in the class of 2009. Memphis was the leader for John Wall before Coach Calipari left. Other schools in the running for Wall are Miami, Duke, Baylor, Kansas, UNC and N.C. State.
It will be interesting to see what happens with some of the top prospects left over the next few weeks in regards to Kentucky and if any will join Cousins, Orton and Hood to form another great recruiting class.
