John Wall (Word Of God, NC) Picks Wildcats & Calipari

May 19th, 2009

On Monday night John Wall a 6'4 185lbs point guard from Raliegh, NC decided it was finally time to end his on-going recruiting battle and follow his heart and pick Kentucky.

He picked Kentucky over Miami, Duke and Florida. This was a tough decision for him to make but in the end he couldn't pass up the chance to play for Coach John Calipari.

"In the end, I just felt I wanted to play for Coach Cal. Coaches give different visions of what they can do for you when they talk to you. And all of those are impressive, but my long relationship with Coach Cal and what he can do for me in his program was the main thing."

He joins an already stellar recruiting class that includes DeMarcus Cousins (LeFlore, AL), Daniel Orton (Bishop McGuinness, OK), Eric Bledsoe (Parker, AL), Jon Hood (Madisonville North Hopkins, KY) and Darnell Dodson (Miami Dade CC, FL).

This now gives Kentucky the #1 recruiting class in the country for the class of 2009. It also gives them a good shot at being the preseason #1 team in the country with the return of Patrick Patterson from the NBA Draft.
