Well, it wasn't the best start for the America East conference, but then again, no one expected the Great Danes to pull off the upset in this one.
It was a special night for Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim, as he got his 800th career win -- something only eight coaches in Division I history have accomplished.
Will Harris led the Danes, who shot a horrific 27.3 percent from the floor, with 14 points. Tim Ambrose had 12. Here's the AP recap with some video.
And here's ink from the Post-Standard. And if you want to check out the story from the Times Union, here it is.
Also, if you haven't seen this before, Mark Singelais keeps one of the best AE basketball blogs around. Check out the link. Well worth adding to your favorites.

Background
Nick is a senior at Boston University, pursuing a degree in print journalism with a minor in psychology. He has covered the BU men's basketball team for the Daily Free Press for the past three seasons and is an avid follower of America East basketball.
Over the last three summers, he's interned for Comcast Sports Net (in Philadelphia), minorleaguebaseball.com, the Associated Press (Philadelphia) and the Philadelphia Evening Bulletin. His passion for the business was sparked when Ted Silary of the Philadelphia Daily News allowed him to write a column for his high school sports website.
In his spare time, Nick plays trumpet and drums in the Boston University pep band and attempts to play multiple intramural sports at BU as well as summer baseball in Philly. If he was good enough to compete in anything better, he would.

Thought Albany might put up a better fight then they did, but they just didn't hit any shots.
