Yesterday was Martin Luther King Jr. day. Lots of hoops were played a little early yesterday around the nation. In fact, lots of hoops were played in Boston alone as Stony Brook and Boston University went 4 overtimes.

Boston lead 56-53 late in regulation but Stony Brook’s Muhammad El-Amin hit a 3 at the buzzer to send it into OT.

This was one of those games that you literally didn't want to end. Eventually, it did end in the 4th OT as Boston held on to a 99-97 win.

Somebody who did want the game to end was Terrier Sophomore John Holland. Holland (Pictured Left), who earlier in the day was named America East Conference player of the week for the second-consecutive week, played every minute and second of overtime and regulation. It's amazing that a guy can put up 60 minutes and still shoot 8-19(6-12 from 3 land) and manage to hit all of his free throws (7-7).

Reigning AE Player of the Year Corey Lowe led all scorers with 33 points (21 of which came in overtime). Lowe also logged a ton of minutes in the game. He played 56 minutes in this lengthy marathon hoops contest.

Stony Brook was led by Chris Martin(26 points) and Tommy Brenton (15 points and 17 rebounds).

Another interesting stat for you. Boston took 68 shots compared to Stony Brook's 90 shots. The big difference was the Terriers hit 47% of their shots compared to the Seawolves hitting only 36% of their shots.

Stony Brook falls to 9-9 (1-4 in America East) while Boston moves to 8-9(3-2 in America East).

Best College Big Man

In the last two days I've watched three superstar college big men.

Two nights ago I saw Hansbrough against Wake Forest and last night I had the privilege of watching Harangody and Griffin .

I got to thinking (which my wife says is never a good thing) about who I would want to lead my college team.

I'm a Sooner deep down but still had a hard time with deciding who I would take to be the centerpiece of my team.

I'm interested to see who you guys think would be the best big man to build your team around.
