Preseason Polls So Far
It's one of the best times of the year for college basketball fans. Preseason polls are coming out by the day, and with practices in full swing the beginning of the regular season is right around the corner. Hope springs eternal, and that's definitely the case for a number of schools in the New York metropolitan area, allowing college hoops fans in and around the city to dream of a revival. Below are the preseason coaches polls for the conferences with NYC connections that have already had their media days.

In regards to the preseason All-Atlantic 10 teams, freshman forward Chris Gaston was named to the conference's Preseason All-Rookie Team. Despite the fact that the conference picks three preseason all-conference teams, sophomore guard Jio Fontan didn't receive enough votes to make any of those teams.

Seton Hall junior guard Jeremy Hazell was the lone area player named to either of the Big East's preseason all-conference teams, garnering a Second Team selection.

Hofstra, who was discussed in the spring as a possibility to leave the CAA in the near future, also had junior guard Charles Jenkins named Preseason Co-Player of the Year (ODU's Gerald Lee) and selected for the CAA's Preseason First Team All-Conference team.
