Xavier Musketeers (23-5, 11-3)
Games Left: Dayton, at Richmond
-The Musketeers figure to be a slight favorite over the Dayton Flyers
who defeated them over two weeks ago in Dayton. They may be looking to
avenge that loss but the Flyers are much improved this year and could
pull the upset on the road. Richmond should be an easier task. They
have the easiest road of the four teams and control their own destiny,
unlike anyone else.
Rhode Island Rams (21-8, 10-4)
Games Left: at Duquesne, UMASS
-Rhode Island is the hottest team in the league, but Duquesne will
present a challenge. They are a streaky team, just like Rhode Island,
and traditionally play well at home against better foes. UMASS could
also surprise the Rams if they are not careful.
Dayton Flyers (23-5, 9-4)
Games Left: Temple, at Xavier, Duquesne
-The next three games will determine just what the Flyers need to do to
get in the NCAA tournament. A win in two of the last three would
virtually assure the Flyers of an NCAA bid. However, Temple will be
hungry to get back in the picture after the loss to LaSalle. Xavier
will be aching to defeat them after being trounced by their rivals.
Duquesne is dangerous and should not be overlooked. They need to win
all three to have a chance.
Temple Owls (17-10, 9-4)
at Dayton, St. Joe’s, at GW
-Temple must win all three. Defeating Dayton, who has not lost at home,
will be a monumental task. If that occurs, they will face a crestfallen
St. Joe's team that once was in second place in the A-10 but has
returned to the pack recently. That will be a tough game for both
teams. GW is no cupcake to conclude the schedule but the most important
games are the first two.
